TEMPORARY SEIZURE AND SUSPENSION OF FROZEN MEAT AND PRODUCTS IMPORTING FROM INDIA

 Dear WCA Family Members, Valued Business Partners and all Stakeholders,

Reference:

1)    Letter No.: 3258 MEF issued at Phnom Penh, 01 May 2021 of Ministry of Economy and Finance Temporary seizure and suspension of frozen meat and other frozen products imported from India which may pose risks.

2)    Letter No.: 0886/21 AKR issued at Phnom Penh, 01 May 2021 of General Department of Customs and Excise Temporary suspension of imports and application process on customs clearance of goods as regards frozen meat and other frozen goods imported from India which may pose risks. 

3)    Letter no. 927. P.N. Ph.Ph.Ch. dated 30 April 2021 of the Ministry of Commerce

4)    Sub-Decree no. 17 ANKr.BK dated 26 February 2020 on the Implementation of the List of Prohibited and Restricted Products

As in the aforementioned and reference, I would like to inform you that in compliance

with the wise decision of Samdech Techo Prime Minister upon the request of the Ministry of

Commerce to control the spread of Covid-19, especially the new variant B1617 which is highly

contagious and has serious impact on public health, the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia will take action in accordance with the existing procedures to seize and suspend temporarily the import of frozen meat and other frozen products imported from India which may pose risks, as well as to cooperate with the Ad-hoc Committee for the Monitoring and Testing of Covid-19, from 01 May 2021 until new notice.

As in the aforementioned, I would like to inform you that, if you may have any frozen meat and/or frozen products importing from India to Cambodia, please do not accept the booking from now on until further notice. And for any of your shipment along the way or already arrived in Cambodia ports which haven’t cleared out and delivery yet, please expect to have some delay and inform your customers the same.
